We made two goood rounds in rally-o yesterday, our debute
in the second class. Passe (Apache) won over the 24 competitors with 97
points (max is 100) and Tessie got on third place with 92 points! It was
a really nice feeling, standing there with both my dogs getting prices.
Two more qualifying results and we will be in the third class. In two
weeks I will go to Denmark with Tessie to participate in a tolling
huntingtest, elite class. I´m very excited and hope to get good response
about where we are in our progress and if there are a lot to be done
before we are capable to get first prices in the elite class. There will
of course be a report about it here afterwards. A few of the puppies from third and fourth litter (now 4 months old) have been here learning about retrieving. I have good hope for them and hope that their owners will participate in huntingtests in a few years. |
| 2011-09-03 | Congratulations to me :D Yesterday evening I went to my last rally- obedience competition beginnersclass because both "Tessie" and "Passe" got their third and last needed qualified result. Tessie also got third in the competion. They are now getting RLD N to their names. Passe is the second dog from my breeding that got "letters", Blazing Fowler´s Purdey has got LP1 from traditional obedience, first class. Now me and my dogs are going to compete in rally-o second class wich in Sweden is called Fortsättningsklass. Three results over 70p there and they get RLD F and can enter the third class, called Avancerad (advanced) klass. |

All puppies have gone to good homes as it seems, active
people that also will take the dogs to some shows and competitions. We
were a few that went to the swedish tollerspeciality. Tessie started in
the eliteclass in working test, short after the litter but enough
timelength had gone. She did a very good job and ended up on second
place. I also started my other dog Passe in the openclass for the first
time and he got 33p out of 100, I learned a lot about my dog and how to
comunicate with him so I think he will also learn. Two of the dogs from my second litter, Superstar and Saga, has started in tollinghuntingtest, unfortunately they didn´t get a prize but they have done their first test so now the owners know more about it and Im sure they will come back to another. Another dog from the second litter, Purdey, has won his obedience title from the first class: LP1. I have been to two rallyobedience competitions with my two dogs, Apache and Riverbreeze Tickling Pearl, and they have got two good results over the qualifying limit, one more and they have their title : RLD N and can start in the second class. Actually I have three dogs, I kept one, Det Warshawski, from my forth litter but she doesn´t live at home with me. I found a wonderful family that take care of her for me but I hope to train her and start huntingtests in the future. |
| 2011-05-29 | Time flies! Litter number three wich will be call the cirkus littter (for c-litter) is now 3,5 weeks old. They are adoreable and very social. I have found a nice girl not far from here that is going to buy one of females for half the price and let me have a litter for the other half. Also in the fourth litter, wich will be the detectives for d-litter, I have found a girl not far frome here with the same agreement. I feel so lucky! The detectives are two weeks tomorrow and their cute eyes can be seen. All is well in the kennel and the days go buy so quickly! |
| 2011-05-10 | Tomorrow litter no 3 will be a week old. It´s my first litter with a dog bred by me so this is Tessie´s grandchildren. It feels really good to be able to see the next generation. In only one week Tessie will also have her litter, her last one. She is huge! Nelly got 9 puppies but we lost the last one, but 8 is a lot of work so really is enough. There are three males and five females and they have all beautiful markings. Four of them will be sold in this area and I will help them start a training group. It will be very interesting to watch the dogs progress close up. The others will live in Gothenbourgh, Lindköping (2) and Stockholm if nothing happens to change that. For my litter no 4 with Tessie x Väinö I have mainly breeders that have shown interest, so maybe I will see Tessie´s offspring in shows and in other dog´s pedigrees. That is the future and unknown yet. But I do know there will be a lot of work with two big litters! |

Yesterday Blazing Fowler´s Apache got his 1 prize in
tollinghuntingtest! The judge was impressed by his search. He said he
had a good speed all the time and uses his nose in an execellent way. He
picks up at scent and follows it up instantly. He is a bit to soft in
his mouth and puts down the birds sometimes to get a better grip.
Tomorrow I´m going to pick up his sister, Blazing Fowler´s Cherokee,
because it is only three weeks left of her pregnancy. "Passe" is going
to stay with her owner, we switch dogs, and he will have much more
attention there when my house is full of puppies. Two litters at the
same time will be a handfull! We switch back the dogs in the
kennel-gathering in July. In July the rally-o competitions will be
official here in Sweden. |
| 2011-02-04 |
I started for the first time in Rally-o today. It was 27
dogs and Passe (Blazing Fowler´s Apache) and I came on 5th place! I got
on 9th place with Tessie (Riverbreeze Tickling Pearl). I was happy with
the result. Three faults on each dog were my fault. Tomorrow we are
going to an obedience competition. |

Today I got mail from Kjell Erik in Norway, the owner to
Blazing Fowler´s Comanche in first litter. "Aramis" has had his hips
x-rayed and they are C (minor) wich is not surprising at all, even good
news considering he had a problem with his left front leg growing up. The
vet then told us that Aramis most likely would put uneven pressure on
the hips. I havn´t heard from MicMac in Denmark since he was little and
his owner has moved so I have totally lost track of them and therefore I
have no record of his achievements or of his health. It is a pity when
buyers doesn´t keep in contact :( But the litter is only three years old
so I might still get a letter or a phonecall..I hope anyway. |

Happy New Year all of you that comes here to read a bit
in English. This page is merely a summary of what´s going on around the
Blazing Fowler´s dogs. In 2010 my second litter became a year old in
September and 8 out of 10 has had their hips x-rayed. All were excellent
but one got a C (minor) and he will have another go at the vet when that
he is a bit older and hopefully it will also be A or B like the others.
A new year means a summary and if I look at my two litters so far this
is what I can say: 15 puppies have been born, all have survived and none has been sick with any strange symtoms. What sort of work are they used for? The number of Blazing Fowler´s dogs thas has so far done: huntingtest/ workingtest: 2, obedience competition:2,
shows: 5, agility: none so far but at least 2 has plans to start,
practical hunting: 6 that I know of, functional description: 14, mental
description: 3. 2011 I will, if things go well, have two litters.
Nelly from my first litter is going to meet a male with a pedigree not
that common around here. It´s Working Beautys Faithful Friend, whose
father is Kylador´s Bustin Thru Th´reeds (Reid)
and also for my forth litter I have chosen a male with a pedigree from "abroad".
Then we will take a pause for 2012 and there will be no litter until
2013. |
| 2010-10-09 | I and Blazing Fowler´s Apache "Passe" got a third prize on the tollinghuntingtest today. It was a fair prize and our work was worth just that. The obedience needs to improve to get a higher prize but Passe has good qualities. The whole judgement can be read at the blog but you will need to translate it into English by google translation i.e. |
| 2010-10-04 | First x-ray result from my second litter is official! Blazing Fowler´s Norma "Tindra" has B (clear) hips and 0 on her elbows! I have the breedingrights for one litter on her so it is twice as good results :) Celebrating! On saturday Blazing Fowler´s Apache will get another chance at a tolling hunting test. Got a second prize, time for a first?! :) |

Last weekend it was the Tollerspeciality here in Sweden.
I participated in the hardest class for the first time with Tessie. She
was injured one year and was pregnant another so I have not been able to
start. This year, also for the first time, the Swedish tollarclub is
allowed to arrange one official hunting test each year, so the tolling
huntingtest was an official one. We started in open class
tollinghuntingtest and got another first prize. We were ranked 8th of 31
so it went well, even if I think we can do a lot better if I train a bit
before I start... The small things that put us further down the
prizelist, but were not so big misstakes it cost us the first prize, was
the speed coming home (trotting, not galopping) and also the fact that I
didn´t get all the birds directly in my hand, a few were dropped on my
feet. Small things. Tessie was brilliant anyway! I also had the pleasure
of watching three of Tessies offspring performing in different classes.
From first litter, the indians, Nelly (Blazing Fowler´s Cherokee)
started for the first time in obedience. I had no idea why her owner,
who is a very nice and talented girl, had not before and I got the
answere from her mother: she gets so nervous so she doesn't come to
start. Well she did this year! Very proud of her even if the points can
and will be better she got in there and finally did start! Well done! On
the conformation Nelly became the 4th best bitch in open class (out of
29) with a honory prize! The judge wanted to see Nelly's tail more and
her owner will train more with the ball and I think Nelly will get
really nice results in the showring! She is going to another show in
Norrköping in august so lets hope for a nice start (and that the nerves
of Madde will stay in place so there will be a start). Nelly was
measured to be 47 cm and her brother Blaxzing Fowler´s Comanche "Aramis"
was 46 cm wich is nice because that means he is small but approved! He
also got nice judgement in the show. He is really a teddybear and has a
wonderful darkred colour. When he was growing up one leg stopped growing
at one time and that has put preasure on the other legs and I wouldn't
breed on a dog that hasn´t grown like it should but it´s a blame. He is
so nice. Shortlegged yes but the colour and the temperament is lovely.
Hopefully Nelly will bring the dark colour to some puppies in my third
litter. That would be awsome! Also from Tessies second litter one puppy
came to start! Blazing Fowler´s Super Star "Nova" entered the working
test at the humble age of 10 months. She got 33 points and did very well!
She also participated in the show and got really nice words form the
judge but she needs to "show" more. A few weeks ago she was 2nd best
bitch with honory prize in Jönköping so she can also get nice results I
think. I was very proud of the litters and the owners. I was also proud to be in the best hunting class because that has been my goal ever since I first saw the class when Tessie was a little puppy. I thought I wanted to teach my dog all those things too, like the signals with the whistle and be able to handle my dog at a distance. I have reached that goal and it feels great. Now I also can enjoy the great feeling of being proud of the dogs I have bred. Now I´m putting up new goals and also looking forward to the hunting season that is beginning soon! |

I never did write about how the huntingtest went! I start with Tessie because that result was nice... we got our second first prize in open class so we are now qualified to start in elite class when that will be run here in Sweden! Hurray!! Tessie was very good and did everything so well. Passe on the other hand.. he wants those birds so bad so he gets out of hand. The healwork went excellent and the tolling went but I had to tell him all the time to come back. He did what I said, forgot the ball a few times but came back. Then it was marking out in the water and he went swift, straight and retrieved lovely to my hand. Then it was a duck lying on a straight line away from us (probably a nice English word for that exercise) and Passe went straight, swift and picked it up and then he stood still and thougt for a moment, put the duck down nicely and soft and threw himself off to new adventures searching for whatever (more ducks?). The judge asked if I coul call back my dog and I told him the truth that I thought my dog was beyond that point. I said I´ld go and get him so I took a few steps, waved my arms and yelld and Passe turned towards me, picked the duck up that he had left and came happily to me. So he didn´t do a good huntingtest but the wrongs he has I can live with. I will continue to use him in practical hunting and he will still be a great huntingdog and companion even if he doesn't get first prizes in huntingtests ;) The funny part is that he is better than Tessie in obedience, but there are on the other hand no ducks involved. We are now waiting for Passes sister to come into heat so we can go and visit Working Beauty´s Faithful Friend with her. Last year Tessie had over 11 months between her heatperiods and Nelly is now also over 11 months since last time. Whosaid waiting is fun! The socond litter is growing up and a two has attended shows getting honory prizes and one also was second in the group (BIG2). One of the bitches took on a two days old bloodtrack the other day and had no problem in finding the end! |

Easterholiday is here with time to practise and relax with the family. I´m going to a tollinghuntingtest the 24th of April, three hours drive from here, up in Gusum. I´m taking both Passe and Tessie with me. Yesterday Eddie helped me in the training. I put up the camofluagenet in the woods and Eddie sat, with hunting clothes and the 22. rifle, a few metres away beside the net and I had put three crows in front of the net. Then I trained the tolling. This was good practise! Escpecially Passe tried to run like a hurricane and fetch a bird and not the ball, but the message went through..."get me the ball until I say it´s enough, then you get the bird". Tessie needs this a bit too, she doesn´t go for the bird but goes to the shooter and shows off, she also runs infront of the net to check things out...me going grrrr behind the net. Then she comes with a look on her face saying "What?". Finding and retrieving the birds is no problems but I want the other parts to be better so we get first prizes. Passe´s searchingpattern can be better too. He is a bit imature and goes to same spot more than one time. Tessie just need to do her thing, listen to me and stay out of her heatseason! On the 25th you will be able to read about the result from the tolling huntingtest:) |

Yesterday I went to a working test with Tessie. It didn´t go as well as I wanted but I have done some thinking and I realize that I´m a bit hard on me and Tessie. She hasn´t done any "performances" since april last year because after that she was mated and got her big litter with ten puppies. After and berfore the puppies it hasn´t been much practice. Before due to the pregnancy and after due to the huge amount of snow we got here. But I´m funny, I go to the Working test thinking its just for practice but when I´m there I can´t help wanting to win :) I love to win, It's as simple as that ;) Anyway. We got points from all judges and all stations. We went in the "open class" so the tasks were not so simple. We ended up with 39p out of 80 and place 13 out of 17 dogs in the open class. It was a toller that won: Duck Dog's Honker. Remarkable is that there was three classes and three prizes in each class but only two of them went to labradors (no firstprizes). |

Not much have happened since last time I wrote. Turbo - Purdey form second litter has been on conformation in puppy-class and got excellent from the judge. His owner Anna from further up north in sweden has also put a video on facebook of him and her training heel. He is so concentrating and walks marvellous for such a young dog. Tomorrow he and the rest of the litter are going to be 5 months old. If he developes correctly he will be an interesting dog to look out for. Aramis - Comanche from first litter has been on conformation too. He always gets good judgement but his legs are a bit too small so he will not be in the winning circle. It´s a pity but he is such a charming loveable dog and I cant help thinking that that is the most important thing! Hopefully his owner will try out retrieving as well because at the functional test the testleader found Aramis "born to retrieve". Maybe we will see him on some working tests :) All you Norweigans reading this, help him out please ;) And if you, KjellErik is here, here is a message for you: You can do it! Go go go! ...and if anybody needs some snow you are welcome here and get as much as you like, we are sick of it now! Me want spring, flowers, sun, grass and dogtraining! |
| 2010-01-31 |
I get reports form the owners to the "Gun powders", litter number 2. They are now 4 months old and eager to retrieve! They are alert, observs a lot what goes on around them, very nice with small kids and animals, easy to teach and full of life :) All well in other words. We got much more snow then we have got in years and its very cold outside so the dog-training has not really started yet. Blazing Fowler´s Apache, my Passe has been used for hunting dog this winter and is born to do that! He loves to hunt and has also been used to find the wildboars that has been shot, mostly as a training for him. Maybe I will take him with me to a huntingtest this spring, but Im not sure. Depends on if I get the time and opportunity to train with a lot of people as distraction, as it is on tests. Tessie doesnt mind people, she doesnt care about them but Passe is much more social and tries to focus on everybody...as you understand it makes his little brain go overloaded :) I need to make him understand that its only me he needs to focus on. Maybe the practical hunting with the other guys has tought him that. Time will show if thats the truth. My intention is to make entries with Tessie anyway. Must find the time (and have some luck in the selection) and participate in some tolling hunting tests. We are going to have elite class this year and all I need is another first prize then we are qualified to enter. That will be fun! |

Today our winterholiday starts, horray! I have finally decided male for litter nr3. The bitch is Nelly, Blazing Fowler´s Cherokee (after SU(u)Ch SVCH Vildandens Vargtass af Dinchi and SVCH Riverbreeze Tickling Pearl) but I won't tell wich male it is until it is time. I try really hard not to let my mouth speak to much, which is hard ;) i think "Nelly" will be in heat in february -march, but if she is like her mother I will have to wait and wait and wait...and then after all that waiting : 10 puppies ;) "Nelly" has started to be used as a hunting dog theese days by her owner´s brother. Think that is all for today. Merry Christmas to you all! |

First litter is two years and grown up today!! I write a lot in my blogg and I would like to know if you that chose this site "news in English" are able to understand what I write in my blogg (in Swedish) using some sort of translationprogram- page or anything, or if you are totally unable to understand any of it :) If you like put a note in my guestbook. Today I have in the blogg written about the first litter and also about me growing up breeding horses and how I got into breeding dogs instead. In short: my son is allergic to horses and if I do something I like to do it properly so I took a kennelname right from the start, even if it was only going to be one litter. Well I have had two litters now and are planning the third hehe. Nelly is very cool, feets on the ground and keen to learn things. Her brothers loved the birds more than me and eachother because they would rather stay with the birds than come along with the pack when we were outdoors. The blogg today is almost a page but thats in short what its all about. Celebrating the first litter, the indians. Hurray hurray! |
